November 2023 : I am proud to announce the publication of our article, co-authored with Charlotte Krychowski, on "Risks in accounting, the case of extractive industries", published in French, where we question the kind of risks measures that could enhance a faithful representation of the risks to which listed companies are exposed.
Our conclusions show a preference for transparent broken-down measures rather than for a unique value resulting from a black box that is supposed to encompass all risks.
Where diverse information is available (like in extractive industries), we find a higher relevance of unpublished (this is the originality of our work) risk representations based on optional reasoning as compared to the relevance of risks representations based on the discounted cash-flows.
